Mindful Breathing

Next time you’re out in nature, try this mindful breathing practise while walking.

As you walk, internally repeat the following to yourself…try to lengthen your breath enough to repeat each sentence with each inhale or exhale…

“Breathing in, I know I am breathing in. Breathing in, I am grateful.
Breathing out, I know I am breathing out. Breathing out, I am grateful.”

If you’re on your route home, eventually add:

“Walking home, I know I am walking home. Walking home, I am grateful.”

When/if you smile, add:

“Smiling, I know I’m smiling, smiling I’m grateful” ~ Have fun with it and add your own positive manta in there!

Great to do after a hard day’s work, this practise helps to bring attention back to body and mind, restoring harmony between both while honouring nourishing feelings.

As long as the lamp of mindfulness shines its light, the darkness is transformed. Once it’s lit, even on those days it’s barely shining, it can guide you further on and in.
